        ✺Review of gun safety and range etiquette. Considerations for pistol selection, including caliber, semi auto pistol vs. revolver, handgun sizes, safeties, and sighting systems.

        ✺Shoot a variety of pistols suitable for home defense, CCW or sport, including G19, G43x, S&W M&P 2.0 Compact, Sig Sauer P365, Ruger Mark IV and S&W J Frame.

        ✺Intro to stance, grip and aiming. You’ll be hands-on, shooting 75 rounds running basic marksmanship drills focused on getting comfortable shooting with accountability.

        ✺You’ll gain practical experience and come away with a realistic understanding of the practice, discipline and skill needed to handle a gun and shoot with confidence and competence.

FAQs
How long is the class?
This 1-hour private class starts with a review of gun safety and range etiquette and moves immediately to the range.
Do I need my own gun?
No, I will provide a selection of handguns for you to try, including 9mm, .22 and .38 caliber.
Should I bring ammo?
Do not bring any ammunition. Seventy-five rounds of ammo (9mm, .22 and .38 caliber) are included in the cost.
What gear do I need?
No gear is needed. Electronic ear protection and eye protection is provided.
Where are classes held?
Classes are held at Philadelphia Training Academy (PTA), an indoor range located in South Philadelphia’s Italian Market, at 831 Ellsworth St.
What is the cost?
This 1-hour private class is $125 for one person. Cost includes gun rental, gear, ammo and range fee.
