  • Private 2-hour intro to pistol shooting fundamentals for beginners. Get hands-on with the gun applying learnings immediately so you progress at a faster pace.

  • Four gun safety rules and range protocol. Demonstration and practice of loading and unloading a handgun and immediate action malfunction clearance.

  • Introduction to basic pistol shooting fundamentals including stance, grip, aiming, trigger press and managing recoil. You’ll build confidence in how to operate your gun.

  • You’ll run drills to explore visual cues, connection to the gun, consistent index on target and trigger control so you can place accurate hits on target, shot after shot.

How long is the class?

This 2-hour class begins with a review of gun safety and range etiquette and then moves immediately to the range.

Do I need my own gun?

Yes, you must have your own semi-auto pistol to attend this class.

Should I bring ammo?

You will need 200 rounds of ammunition. Contact me for recommendations to purchase competitively priced bulk ammunition.

What gear do I need?

Please bring a speed loader, electronic ear protection and eye protection.

Where are classes held?

Class is held at Philadelphia Training Academy (PTA), an indoor range located in South Philadelphia’s Italian Market, 831 Ellsworth St.

What is the cost?

This two-hour experiential class for beginners is $175. This includes range fee.
